Sending Your Work
What to send:
A package (20-page maximum) consisting of a one-page synopsis, the query letter you used to submit your work, and EITHER a first chapter OR a full picture book manuscript OR an illustrated dummy. All genres and age groups are welcome.
Where to send:
After receiving your registration and check, we will notify you of your acceptance by email and ask you to kindly forward your manuscript as soon as possible in hard copy to each agent by regular mail—addresses will be supplied. The agents will read your manuscript in advance of the workshop and make comments in the margins. At the end of the workshop, the agents will return your marked manuscript to you.
In addition, please forward this same package to an email address that will be sent to you approximately two weeks before the workshop is held. Your work will be forwarded by email to your fellow-attendees. We ask that each attendee carefully read the work of his/her fellow-attendees. We strongly believe in the importance of writers listening to and learning from discussions of other writers' work in a guided setting.
To sum up, please send your material in hard copy, one copy to each agent, addresses to come. Writers' material for fellow attendees will be emailed to a single email address, the address to be supplied approximately two weeks before the workshop.
The agents understand and respect the laws governing copyright, and it is assumed that those attending this event also understand and respect them. To that end, there is a provision on the Registration Form requiring your signature.
